TechBoston Academy (TBA), located in the Dorchester section of Boston, is an open enrollment public pilot school currently serving 972 students in grades 6-12, with 375 of these students in grades 6-8. TBA offers a college preparatory curriculum which includes interdisciplinary learning and in which technology is the bridge that connects students to their learning experience. The daily schedule includes history, math, English, science and introductory and advanced technology courses, as well as physical education and visual arts classes. With the 2016-2017 school year, TBA started offering a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Design and Visual Communications Pathway that all students may elect to enter beginning in the 9th grade. Within this pathway, students will master design skills using industry standard software and equipment. As a pre-cursor to that opportunity, we have added a Digital Media and Robotics course for all middle school students. TBA believes that creating a more learner centered environment for all students will engage and excite every student to own their own learning.
