Habits of Mind Retrospective | Pre-Conference Learning Opportunities
Additional information about special events at ASCD Empower18 will be added as it becomes available.
Start your day by calming your mind and energizing your body in a feel-good yoga class with Stephanie Kelly in the Reflection Pool. The session will begin with guided meditation and a simple breathing technique. You will then be guided through a series of basic poses that balance the body and open energy pathways. The session will conclude with another guided meditation in a reclined, restorative pose. This class is open to people of all levels of experience and ability—beginners are welcome! Please wear comfortable clothing and bring water. Yoga mats aren’t necessary.

School visits provide Empower18 participants with a pre-conference experience to visit exemplary schools across the greater Boston region. Participants can choose an elementary school, a middle school, or a high school. Each visit provides a personalized tour and a unique look into the innovative programs and dynamic facilities of each site.
Registration for each school site visit is $125.00 per person and is separate from Empower18 conference registration.
Move from ideas to actions that will prepare students to succeed in a diverse, interconnected world. Join us for panel discussions, inspiring talks, and interactive workshops led by teachers, administrators, and thought leaders. You'll leave with an action plan for a more globally oriented school or organization. This event is cohosted with the Global Education Conference Network as part of their Global Leadership Week.

Spend the morning touring the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library. Dedicated to the life, leadership and legacy of our 35th president, the library conveys his enthusiasm for public service. After lunch, you'll visit the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate.
